NATIONAL AXIAL SPONDYLOARTHRITIS SOCIETY
BRand update and related collateral
NASS is a health charity dedicated to supporting those living with a form of inflammatory arthritis. In 2019 they underwent a name change and a brand update. Whilst working at the organisation I helped implement this name change and visual refresh.
Work completed:
Logo refresh
Animation
Social Media Graphics
The first stage of the project involved getting the existing members and stakeholders on board with the name change.
I created an animation using Adobe After Effects which explains the medical context behind the name change, and demonstrates how the new term, and therefore the newly formed charity would be more inclusive.
Working closely with medical advisors the animation is both accurate and engaging, and successfully helped to pass the name change vote at the annual AGM.
The next stage of the project was to update the charity’s logo.
After research into other successful health charities I suggested the use of a strapline instead of the full organisation name.
Straplines were drafted and the final version decided by a member vote. I then artworked the final logo ready for application to many branded items.
The items I went on to design included everything from larger banners for events, fundraising t-shirts and running gear, as well as printed leaflets and guides, right down to pens.
As well as working on the overall brand, I designed some bespoke social media content for campaigns.
This included at promotional video for the 2.6 challenge, a COVID-19 fundraising event, and infographics for the launch of a freedom of information report.
The brand refresh helped clarify the charities aims and gave online and printed graphics a modern refresh. Use of video and animation helped to increase social media engagement.
During my time working at the National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society I completed all regular day-to-day design work including Annual Reports, Flyers and Posters.
